Obscenity

Privacy rights do not protect obscene materials. Instead, the right to privacy in your home protects the materials you acquire. Laws may regulate the possession and distribution of obscene materials in public or for commercial use without violating any privacy rights. All courts have concluded that possession of child pornography, even in the home, has no privacy protections and may be permissibly prohibited.
