At-Will Employment Policy (OR)

Oregon

Under United States labor laws, at-will employment allows both employers and employees to terminate employment at any time, without warning, for any lawful reason, or for no reason at all. This provides flexibility; however, note that it does not override contractual obligations or statutory protections against unlawful termination practices, including discrimination and retaliation.

This At-Will Employment Policy lays out the responsibilities and enforcement of at-will employment as well as periodic reviews to ensure ongoing compliance. There is a place at the end for the employee to sign, confirming that they have read and understand the policy.

This policy is not intended for employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement or for Montana employers due to the specific termination requirements under the Wrongful Discharge From Employment Act (WDFEA). Consult an HR expert if you're unsure of your specific state requirements.
