Roofing Installation/Repair Agreement (WI)
When entering into a roofing project (whether it is re-shingling an existing residential roof or installing a new rubber membrane roof on an office building), a written agreement can be an invaluable tool for preventing disputes and ensuring that the project runs as smoothly as possible. Without one, you are left to whatever oral agreement was made, and each party may not agree on what was said. Additionally, some states require a written agreement, depending on the type of project.
This agreement will help you clearly set out:
- The parties to the agreement
- The scope and specifications for the work
- Payment terms
- The construction schedule
- Preferences relating to dispute resolution
Additionally, if the roofing work is on a residential property, this agreement will address any requirements under any home improvement law in effect in your state.
It is only suitable for work done by licensed contractors, where there is a fixed price and not for an agreement based on time and materials. This agreement is intended to be used in connection with existing structures - not new construction projects.
