Funeral Directive (DC)
A funeral directive specifies what should happen when you pass away. It provides valuable clarity to loved ones about your preferences. You can state:
- What you want to happen to your body, such as be buried, cremated, or entombed.
- Your funeral service preferences, for example where a service should be held, particular music you want played, etc.
You will also appoint someone you trust to carry out your wishes. Depending on state, they might be called a "designated person," "agent," "designee," or "representative."
